Editorial independence

Compare Health Test operates with full editorial independence from all health test providers. No provider, merchant or advertiser has any influence over our rankings, scores or editorial content.

Rankings are determined solely by our editorial scoring framework. A provider cannot improve their ranking by advertising with us, entering a commercial partnership or any other financial arrangement.

Affiliate relationships

Compare Health Test earns revenue through affiliate commissions — when you click a link to a provider and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission. This is disclosed on every page where affiliate links appear.

Affiliate relationships exist with multiple providers. This does not influence editorial scores. A provider with whom we have no affiliate relationship can and does rank above providers with whom we do.

If a provider we review does not offer an affiliate programme, we still review and rank their tests on merit.

Scoring and ranking

All scores are produced using our published scoring methodology. Scores are recalculated whenever we refresh a provider's catalogue, prices or trust facts, and each scorecard shows when it was last calculated.

Scores are calculated by a published formula from the facts we hold about each test and provider. We do not hand-edit individual scores, and a lower confidence score indicates that the provider publishes less of the information the formula needs, not that we have doubts about the provider.

AI-assisted drafting

The written parts of our test reviews (the verdict, summary, pros and cons and descriptive text) are first drafted with the help of AI writing tools, working only from the structured facts we hold about that test: what it measures, how it is collected, its price against comparable tests, its calculated scores and the provider's published claims. The tools are not permitted to introduce facts that are not in that record.

Every AI-assisted draft is flagged as such in our editorial system until a member of the editorial team has checked it against the provider's own page and signed it off. Drafts do not influence scores, which are calculated separately. If you find an error in a review, please contact us and we will correct it under the policy below.

Corrections policy

We are committed to accuracy. If we publish incorrect information, we will correct it promptly and transparently.

Corrections are logged and, where material, noted on the relevant page. We do not silently edit content to remove errors without acknowledgement.

Provider relationships

Providers may submit their tests for consideration. Submission does not guarantee inclusion or a positive score. We evaluate submitted tests using the same framework as all others.

We do not accept payment for reviews, placements or coverage of any kind.

Pricing data

Prices displayed on Compare Health Test are sourced directly from provider listings. We update pricing on a rolling basis but cannot guarantee prices are current at the time of viewing. Always verify price on the provider's own website before purchasing.
